IEC61215
IEC61215 has many test standards. In this issue, Millennial Solar will introduce to you the performance tests among them.
Performance Testing
Performance at low irradiance:
Purpose: Under standard test conditions and irradiance of 800W·m-2 and solar spectrum irradiance distribution of B level or above, determine the electrical performance of photovoltaic modules as the load changes.
Experimental procedure:
a. Under standard test conditions, measure its current-voltage characteristics.
b. Measure the current-voltage characteristics under the condition that the irradiance is 800W·m-2 and the solar spectrum irradiance distribution is B level or above.
Maximum power determined:
Purpose: To determine the maximum power of photovoltaic modules before and after various environmental tests. The repeatability of the test is the most important factor.
Test process: Measure the maximum output power of photovoltaic modules under standard test conditions.
Hot spot durability test:
Purpose: To determine the ability of photovoltaic modules to withstand hot spot heating effects, which may cause solder melting or packaging degradation. Cell mismatches or cracks, internal connection failures, and partial shading or soiling can all cause this defect.
Hot spot effect: When a cell or a group of cells in a photovoltaic module is blocked or damaged, the operating current exceeds the reduced short-circuit current of the cell or battery group. Hot spot heating will occur in the photovoltaic module.
At this point the affected battery is placed in a reverse biased state, dissipating power and causing overheating.
Photostability Chamber
E-mail: market@millennialsolar.cn
Photostability Chamber uses xenon arc lamps that can simulate the full sunlight spectrum to reproduce the destructive light waves in different environments, which can provide the corresponding environmental simulation and acceleration test for the development and quality control of photovoltaic cells.
Meets the stability test stipulated by MQT09 and MQT19 in IEC61215 standard. The spot area reaches 1200*1000mm (applicable to 20 pieces of 230 cell) and the spectrum meets the BBA standard.
IEC61215 performance testing is a crucial and indispensable part of photovoltaic module inspection. It plays a role in protecting the development of our module industry. If you have any questions, please contact Millennial Solar.
