IEC61730 Standard
Millennial Solar will introduce the IEC61730 series of tests in this issue. IEC61730 describes the basic structural requirements of solar cells to ensure the safety of solar cells during electrical and mechanical work during their service life. The standards clearly include measures to prevent electric shock, fire, and personal injury caused by mechanical and environmental effects.
Basic introduction
This standard is conceived so that its test sequence is the same as that of IEC61215 or IEC61646, so that a set of samples can be used to evaluate the safety and performance of solar cell designs at the same time. This specification is a basic guide for ensuring the basic structure of solar cells. These requirements are intended to reduce misuse or damage to internal components (which may result in fire, electric shock, personal injury and other related safety hazards). This specification describes the basic requirements for safe construction and tests relevant to the end use of solar cells.
Structural requirements
This standard applies to the basic construction requirements of solar photovoltaic modules to provide safe electrical and mechanical operation during their expected life. Evaluate the prevention of electric shock, fire, and personal injury caused by mechanical and environmental stresses. This standard has used the best available test sequence. There are some issues, such as the potential risk of electric shock due to damaged modules in high-voltage systems, that should be paid attention to in the system design, location, access restrictions and maintenance procedures. Types of testing include: general inspection, electric shock hazard, fire hazard, mechanical stress and environmental stress.
Test requirements
Specifies the test requirements for solar cells and describes in as much detail as possible the basic requirements for solar cells at different application levels so that they can provide safe electrical and mechanical operation requirements during the expected period of use, and evaluate protection measures against electric shock, fire and personal injury caused by machinery or external environmental influences. Types of solar cells that IEC61730 is not applicable to: offshore solar cells, vehicle solar cells, and AC solar cells. Test types (six categories in total): pretreatment test, basic inspection, voltage hazard test, fire test, mechanical pressure test, structural test.
Wet Leakage Current Tester tests the insulation performance of photovoltaic modules under humid working conditions and detects whether moisture from rain, fog, dew or melted snow enters the working part of the internal circuit of the module, causing corrosion, leakage, and non-safety accidents. Comply with the IEC61215 standard MQT15 clause and IEC61730 MST17 clause.
IEC61730 flowchart
The various standards of IEC promote the standardization of the world's electrical and electronic fields and are currently internationally unified standards. Millennial Solar covers the entire industrial chain of solar photovoltaics: from solar cell principle research to photovoltaic module development and testing to photovoltaic power station operation and maintenance.
